Fed: Protesters call for US to get out of Iraq

Around 500 protesters have taken to the streets of western Sydney calling for America's
downfall and an end to its occupation of Iraq.

The protesters are carrying large banners in Arabic and are marching through the streets
of Auburn to a local park where the Mufti SHEIK TAJ ALDIN ALHILALI's representative, KEYSAR
TRAD, is due to address them.

The noisy group is chanting anti US slogans and holding placards calling for an end
to the US-led occupation of Iraq.

Many children are among the protesters.

The protest coincides with an escalation of violence in Iraq and growing debate at
home about when to withdraw Australian troops.
