VIC: Boy critically injured in house fire

MELBOURNE, Feb 28 AAP - A two-year-old boy is critically ill with burns and smoke
inhalation after being rescued from a burning house at Geelong, south-west of Melbourne.

Firefighters today praised the efforts of a neighbour who raised the alarm and administered
first aid to the boy after the child's mother bundled her two children from the blazing house.

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) spokesman said firefighters rushed to the blaze at Georgia
Grove, in the Geelong suburb of Corio about 8.30am.
